Driving forth country anchorage in Poland in the snow (Mercedes C alternation W204)
www.facebook.com www.ceepackaging.com twitter @ceepackaging www.facebook.com TheW204-series C-class has been on sale since the beginning of 2008. It has a very nice six-speed manual gearbox or the optional 7G-Tronic seven-speed auto. This version is a sport model with a huge Mercedes badge in the centre of the grille, as in some of the 190 series so beloved by me. Sitting in the driving seat you have everything where you want it but there are a couple of faults from the point of view of vision. Between 80kmph and 140kmpgh I could not see what speed I was going at without moving my body because the indicator needle is so small. Also I cannot see if the lights are on because the indicator is on the light switch which is hidden by the steering wheel. The steering response is very keen and suspension excellent with the AMG sports package. I have heard comments to the contrary that the ride can be hard but that was not my experience and I was driving it over some pretty poor roads as can be seen in the film. No doubt the suspension is even better without the AMG sports package. Of course the firm seats Mercedes provides help also. I did not try crashing it but the last-generation C scored a five-star result in the Euro NCAP crash tests, and this one should do the same. It's comprehensively equipped with all the latest technology to protect its occupants in the event of an impact. Somehow one does not feel vulnerable with all the electronic toys including stability control ...
